Air India Got Notices form HC On Mangloor Accident

The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued notice to Air India and the Union of India on compensation payable to those who died in Mangalore air crash in 2010.

One petitioner, whose son Mohammad Rafi died in the air crash, had approached the apex court saying that he should be given a minimum compensation of Rs 75 lakh.

A division bench of Kerala High Court on August 25, 2011 set aside the verdict of single-judge bench of the same court asking Air India to pay over Rs 75 lakh compensation to families of each of 158 victims of May 2010 Mangalore air crash.
